This page describes past projects that I've completed. These projects have already been sold, though I still have the original plans and could make similar tools on request.

Dovetail Saws

In Fall of 2023, I made dovetail saws with beech and walnut handles available for purchase.

Details:

  • The saw plate is 0.020" thick (nominal), 10 inches at the tooth line, 1095 blue tempered spring steel.
  • Teeth are 15 PPI, filed rip with a 15 degree rake angle.
  • All teeth are hand-cut with a file.
  • The maximum depth of cut (the distance from the tips of the teeth to the bottom of the brass back) is 1.5 inches.
  • The back and saw nuts are 360 free-machining brass.
  • The saw handles available are beech and walnut, both are finished with linseed oil.

I also wrote a user's guide for these saws, which is available here.
